(MMA legend Takanori Gomi makes his octagon debut tonight on Spike)
As if you’re not still chubby from hearing the Fireball Kid joined the UFC, tonight we get to see him fight one of the promotion’s biggest stars in Kenny “Ken Flo” Florian for free on Spike TV.
Gomi is making his octagon debut and the UFC’s promotional efforts for the Japanese super-star have been awkward to say the least. As you know if you click our hyperlinks religiously, and you better, Gomi is the last man to hold the PRIDE Lightweight belt and is widely considered the best lightweight to ever compete in Japanese MMA, which is much more competitive than bowling in India. If he’s able win emphatically tonight the UFC will line him up for a championship tilt against BJ Penn, unifying the PRIDE and UFC belts. It won’t be easy against a motivated Kenny Florian, who seems to beat everyone not wearing a belt. Be sure to tune in to Spike tonight and see two of the best lightweights in the world go at it!
