Brutal Knockout – Goodridge vs Herrera

Author: Junior

When MMA was more spectacle than sport it was alright to throw dudes of different sizes, skill sets, and martial art disciplines in the cage to see who would come out on top. But when the UFC put Paul Herrera in the octagon with the stronger, more technical Gary Goodridge they probably could’ve guessed it would be short and brutal. It was.

Goodridge provided the UFC with a highlight reel 13-seconds that saw Herrera in an inverted crucifix position being elbowed into unconsciousness. He would go on to fight two more bouts that night, defeating Jerry Bohlander by knockout and finally getting bumped from the tournament by SportsBore favorite and moustache owner Don Frye.
