“… quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, it must be a duck”

Oregon Ducks quarterback, Jeremiah Masoli, is facing criminal charges after burglarizing an Oregon fraternity house. Masoli, and his wide receiver partner-in-crime, Garrett Embry, were each charged yesterday with one count of burglary in the second degree.

A fraternity member reported to authorities that Masoli and Embry stole two computers and a guitar from the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house on Jan. 25.

Hey, at least they stole some valuable shit that’s easy to pawn?

I have to assume that after the LeGarrette Blount debacle last season, head coach Chip Kelly is being pressured to clean house and start turning the Oregon program around. Generally speaking, I don’t think Jeremiah’s sticky hands are going to be accepted lightly in Eugene.

So sad that a quarterback can lead his team to the Rose Bowl and just three months later get pinched for burglary on campus. That’s just sad.

The Oregon Ducks haven't exactly built a reputation of sportsmanship, and we've got more video footage to prove it.

The Oregon Ducks haven’t exactly built a reputation of sportsmanship, and we’ve got more video footage to prove it.

In this second edition of “Mascot War” we see Houston’s “Shasta” get punk’ed around by Oregon’s “Donald Duck.” Ex-University of Oregon athletic director, Leo Harris, made a handshake deal with Walt Disney allowing the university to use the likeness of Donald Duck as their sports mascot. In the 70′s the suits at Disney found that no formal agreement existed with the University, though Oregon officials were able to provide a photo of Disney and Harris arm-in-arm with matching Donald U of O jackets. The Disney brass drafted up a contract allowing the use of Donald to preserve Walt’s wishes.

Disney would be rolling in his grave if he saw the 0:36 mark…

It seems these two pep-rally nerds let their adrenaline get the best of them after hearing the crowds’ roar of approval. In this video Donald makes a transition from fake, fun-loving, WWE-style elbows to throwing serious, MMA-style ground & pound. After the beating Donald transitions immediately into intercourse. Had these mascots fought a couple decades ago the result may have been different as Houston used a series of live cougars to represent “Shasta” up until 89′.

Stay tuned to SportsBore.com to see more nerds in goofy costumes pop their fight cherries.

The "Grandaddy of them all" was one for the ages... at least in Columbus. The conservative, old school style of Ohio State proved to be too much for Oregon today with the Buckeyes pulling out the victory 26-17.

The “Grandaddy of them all” was one for the ages… at least in Columbus. The conservative, old school style of Ohio State proved to be too much for Oregon today with the Buckeyes pulling out the victory 26-17. The Buckeye defense smothered Jeremiah Masoli and the Ducks high-octane offense. Oft criticized Buckeye quarterback, Terrelle Pryor, carried Ohio State’s offense on his back to victory. Pryor threw for a season high 266 yards and rushed for an additional 72 yards. Pryor’s stats were impressive, but his poise and improvisation in the clutch are what set the Buckeyes apart today. Pryor was named the games MVP and the sophomore quarterback will enter the 2010 season with the confidence that he can win the big game.

Earlier in the day Florida State sent off legendary head coach Bobby Bowden with his 389th career win. The Seminoles knocked off No. 18 West Virginia, 33-21, in the final game of Bowden’s storied 44-year career as a head coach. We’re going to miss Bowden, but we’re glad he left the game a winner because that’s what he is.

In the final BCS game of the night the Florida Gators embarrassed the Cincinnati Bearcats 51-24. This was one of the least-entertaining Sugar Bowls in recent memory as Tim Tebow and the Florida offense dismantled the Bearcats defense. Tebow padded his career stats with a career day completing 31 of 35 pass attempts for 488 yards and three touchdowns. Tebow also ran for 51 yards and a touchdown. Not too many were surprised that the Bearcats were outclassed by the Gators, but they didn’t expect #4 Cincinnati to lay down like they did.

There is more bowl action tomorrow and the rest of the week capped off with the BCS Championship game on Thursday January 7th pitting the Alabama Crimson Tide against the Texas Longhorns. A great Alabama defense vs. veteran quarterback, Colt McCoy, should make for a great finale to the 2009 college football season.
