Mascot War #4 – Goofball Grappling

Author: Junior

The stakes are raised in this installment of “Mascot Wars” as an in-state rivalry gets a shot in the butt when their mascots go at it during a basketball game. It’s no secret that Cal and Stanford don’t share any warm feelings for one another, in fact each year their football teams play in the “Big Game,” a classic rivalry that’s brought us such gems as “THE BAND IS ON THE FIELD!” This altercation took place on the hardwood, but it no doubt fueled the fire that burns between the universities.  For the most part it’s a weak display of grappling, though the bear does latch on to a pretty nice double-leg at one point. The highlight of the video is hearing to the nostalgic voice of Charlie Steiner dishing out cheesy one-liners over the scrum.
