Jimmie Johnson on HBO’s 24/7

Author: Stretch

Other than West Virginia, where else can you find 200,000 toothless drunks who love race cars? The Daytona 500!

The Daytona 500 is the Super Bowl of NASCAR, but it’s the first race of the season, so I’m still confused how it’s the Super Bowl o NASCAR, but oh well (by definition wouldn’t the Spring Cup be the Super Bowl of NASCAR?)

To be fair, the Daytona 500 is the biggest single race of the NASCAR season, and they’ve been running it since 1959 back when NASCAR racers were grown-ass men with mustaches who smoked Marlboro reds. Now they fly to races on private jets and have personal trainers.

Who to Watch: Dale Earnhardt Jr. is NASCAR’s most popular driver. He’s a bonafide hillbilly and probably does drink beer in the garage. Mark Martin is a NASCAR legend and everyone’s sentimental favorite. Jimmie Johnson is NASCAR’s best driver and actually a very cool guy (drinks beer, curses and married a model).

If you’re not into NASCAR nobody here is going to hold that against you, but HBO’s 24/7 is profiling Jimmie Johnson’s prep up to this years Daytona 500 this year and it’s a pretty decent show. His wife is a former supermodel and his owner, Rick Hendrick, is the most dominate owner in NASCAR history. You can catch the show on HBO on Demand. Check out how hot his wife too. Wow.

So check out the show and if it tickles your fancy, tune into the Daytona this Sunday at 1:19 pm EST on Fox.
