The director of Erin Andrews' most famous two minutes in front of a camera, Michael David Barrett, has changed his tone from pleading the fifth to pleading guilty yesterday during a court proceeding Andrews personally attended, which got Barrett all sorts of chubby.
Andrews reportedly spoke to the judge during the hearing, urging a stiff penalty for Barrett saying, "I hope he never sees the light of day." Gee Erin, being a little harsh on the dude responsible for allowing you to meet Oprah…
Barret admitted to following Andrews out-of-state and filming two "peep hole" videos. Reports suggest he then tried to sell the footage to celebrity gossip site TMZ. The likely sentence for the (former) Illinois insurance executive is 27-months behind bars, though a judge will give an official ruling on the length of prison-term and restitution he will owe Andrews during a sentencing scheduled for February 22nd.
Society is forever indebted to Michael for all his efforts, so a big thanks goes out to him. Mr. Barrett may be facing 27 months or so locked up, but he's got a life-long sentence of high fives. So go ahead and smile Mike, and bite down hard.
