Former head coach of the Dallas Cowboys and Georgia Tech football program, Chan Gailey, has been hired on as the new head coach of the Buffalo Bills (my favorite team name coming out of Shannon Sharpe’s mouth).
Ex-Steelers coach Bill Cowher was lead horse for the job and apparently heaped praise upon Gaily while rejecting the offer. Cowher had planned to make Gailey his assistant head coach and offensive coordinator had he taken the job, instead Gailey will get his second shot as a head coach in the NFL after 15 seasons in the league.
His first head coaching stint was 1998-99 when he was lead man for the Cowboys. They made the playoffs both seasons he was at the helm but were unable to come up with a “W” when they got there. From 2002-07 he was head coach for the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech, making a bowl game in all 6 seasons. Other than that there’s not much we can report on Gailey, other than he has a slightly funny last name and judging from the picture we found is probably a grumpy neighbor.
A press conference will take place today at 2 p.m. ET to shed some light on the new hire.

Chan Gailey? Good thing I’m not a bills fan!
