Earning 116 of 123 first-place votes, LeBron James ran away with his second straight NBA MVP Award. The left-over votes were shared between Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant. James accepted the award in his hometown of Akron, OH in front of over 3,000 screaming fans.
The award puts LBJ on a list of ten players in NBA history to have won the award in consecutive seasons, alongside the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Larry Bird, and Michael Jordan. ‘Bron ‘Bron averaged 29.7 points, 8.6 assists and 7.3 rebounds during the regular season, leading the Cavs to a league-high 61 wins. He and the rest of the Cavs squad continue their quest to bring a championship back to Cleveland tomorrow night in game two against the Celtics. They lead the series 1-0.
