Lightweight Shuffle

Author: Junior

Pussies on the pavement, bitches. Nate Diaz is pissed about dropping another split-decision to yet another top contender this past Monday at UFC Fight Night 20.  He released a youtube video ranting about his impeccable, unbruised face just days after the bout and how he believes judges don’t like him and are taking wins from him.  This time defeat came at the hands of Xtreme Couture product Gray Maynard.  Unfortunately for Maynard, the “W” wasn’t enough to impress the boss into giving him a title shot as UFC prez Dana White announced that Frank Edgar would get the next chance against lightweight champ BJ Penn.  The bout will likely take place in Abu Dhabi at UFC 112.

Maynard had a relatively dominant win over Edgar in April of 2008, and though neither has lost since that fight (Maynard is currently on a 7 fight win streak in the UFC), Edgar has been more impressive in his victories.  Along with being extremely likable, Edgar is now 6-1 in the UFC and has taken home three fight of the night bonus checks.  He’s proven to be a threat on both the ground and on the feet and has yet to be finished in a fight.  Then again, he’s never been locked in a cage with BJ Penn for 25 minutes.  Good luck Frankie, and yeah, you’ll probably need it.

BJ is on top of his game!! he is a FREAK right now, no one has a chance at 155. maybe a wrestler but who wants to see that?

  2. [...] Gomi will likely make his octagon debut against Kenny “Ken-Flo” Florian on Spike TV as the Fight Night 21 main event. The card is to take place in late March at a North Carolina venue. Ken-Flo is 10-3 in the UFC with two of his three loses coming in heart-breaking title bouts. If Gomi is able to make a highlight out of Florian there’s a good chance they strut the Jap around with his old PRIDE championship hardware and offer him a shot to unify the belts against BJ Penn. Sorry Gray Maynard… [...]

  4. At UFC 112 Anderson Silva was simply the better fighter he was head and shoulders better than the guy he was fighting and he coasted yet he gets criticized!
