More proof Baseball is Boring

Author: Junior

Amid reports that Ken Griffy Jr. was sleeping on the job last week, Mets broadcaster Keith Hernandez gave us further proof that baseball is not the most entertaining sport on television… In the video above you’ll see a member of the production crew forced to lull Hernandez out of a nap while returning from a commercial break. I can’t blame the guy, my eye lids start getting heavy right after I hear the words, “Play ball!”

Hernandez spent a chunk of his playing career in New York and should probably be embarrassed by the incident, but it’s mostly just funny. Even funnier is that “Mex” is making headlines again because of the bad blood between he and ex-teamate Bernie Carbo, which was revealed in an episode of Outside the Lines this past Sunday. Carbo alleges that he tried to hire goons to break Hernandez’ arms after “Mex” name-dropped to the police about some booger sugar use in ’85. Get these guys a reality show already!

HAHA! I love America’s past time but that’s pretty funny. What a goon, still have his job?

Is that the same Keith Hernandez from Seinfeld?

Of course baseball is’nt boring. It’s homegrown and the national past time so that elliminates all possibility of baseball being boring. That’s like saying apple pie is boring. Now, hockey is boring. It’s a transplant sport so that elliminates all possibility for excitement. Soccer is really boring becaue it’s the world game and definately not home grown so therefore an absolute threat to U.S. sports culture and must be resisted at all costs.

I have no problem with liking or disliking sports. But it should’nt be based on national insecurity , but that’s exactly what is happening. And its painfully obvious. baseball and Football are boring. How can time run off the clock for 45 seconds after only a 5 second play? What a rip off. Now that’s boring.

Thanks for your comments Dave… we respect your opinion but the fact is baseball is boring as hell. Most people under the age of 35 have never been passionate about baseball due to the advent of extreme sports, MMA, lacrosse and the proliferation of football and basketball. In 10 years most hockey players will be making less than $1 million and in 20 years the same will go for baseball.

The beautiful thing about America is that it’s a free country. Because we’re free the market (sports fans) determine popularity. Baseball will continue to slide and eventually lose ground to football, basketball and “other” (MMA, extreme sports, etc.)
