The Alabama Crimson Tide are are bringing another National Title home to Tuscaloosa after beating the Texas Longhorns 37-21 last night in Pasadena. This marks the 4th BCS Championship in as many years for the SEC, which leads all conferences. Alabama is the decisive champion, but they did get a gift in the 1st quarter when Colt McCoy left the game with an injury to his right shoulder. McCoy’s absence put true freshman, Garrett Gilbert, under center for his first collegiate start.
The lead story from the game is certainly Alabama’s win, but a close 2nd is McCoy’s 1st quarter injury. Texas took early control of the game and seemed poised for an upset… until Colt went to the sideline clutching his right arm. Enter Gilbert. Game over.
Gilbert was overwhelmed by the speed of Alabama’s defense completing just 15 of 40 passes and throwing 4 interceptions. However, it wasn’t all bad for the true freshman who lead a 2nd half surge that included 2 touchdown passes. Gilbert and the entire Texas team deserve a round of applause for not quitting and actually making it a close game. One can only imagine how exciting the game could have been if McCoy hadn’t left the game. But, “If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we’d all have a merry Christmas.” It simply wasn’t Texas’ year.
Congrats to the Crimson Tide. Not only did they beat Texas, we shouldn’t forget they also beat Florida and went undefeated in the SEC. There’s no doubt who the #1 team in the country was this year.

I hate Nick Saben, he is a dick! He left the Dolphins and as the most unapologetic d-bag in history.
Ya. He’s also a winner….. Bioooootchhhhhhhh
